On 4 November 2024, IHH Healthcare proudly welcomed Island Hospital, Penang into our expanding network in Malaysia, marking an exciting step toward delivering seamless, world-class healthcare across the region.

At the inaugural staff town hall held on 5 November, Jean-François Naa, CEO of IHH Malaysia and Ivan Loh, COO of IHH Malaysia and Regional CEO for Northern Malaysia, celebrated the integration of Island Hospital, presenting a shared vision of patient-centred care, along with expanded resources, development opportunities, and upskilling programmes.
As Penang’s largest private hospital, Island Hospital brings nearly 120 specialists across nine Centers of Excellence, including orthopedics, cardiology, oncology, gastroenterology, and general surgery. This acquisition aligns with IHH’s commitment to provide quality care for both local and international patients.
Following IHH’s acquisition of Island Hospital, Ivan Loh will focus on his roles as COO of IHH Malaysia and Regional CEO for Northern Malaysia, leading integration efforts and elevating Island Hospital’s clinical and service improvements, while Lim Kooi Ling takes on the role as the CEO of Island Hospital.
