Marrying design with sustainability, Pantai Hospital Ipoh won an award presented by the Mayor of Ipoh City, Y.Bhg. Dato Rumaizi, for embracing green building technology as part of its recent renovations.
It may not be obvious to the naked eye but beneath the unique and modern hospital façade lies a rainwater harvesting system that irrigates planter boxes on all levels of the building.
With this, and a new design that gives patients a direct view to the outdoors, the planters can then do their magic: lift the spirits and promote the mental and physical health of the patients.
These green features won Pantai Hospital Ipoh a prestigious award in the ‘Alteration & Addition’ category from Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia, the national professional institute for architects.
Way to go, Pantai Hospital Ipoh!
