How do sustainability and healthcare intersect to shape our future? This was the focus of our second HealthcareInsider leadership dialogue this year, themed "Shaping our Future, Sustainably," held on 1 August 2024.
Moderating the discussions was Ashok Pandit, Group Chief Corporate Officer, IHH Healthcare, who was joined by Yasemin Tecmen Stubbe, Group Head of Sustainability; Dr Keith Lim, Group Head of Medical and Quality; Yong Yih Ming, Chief Operating Officer of IHH Healthcare Singapore; and Erica Lam, Regional CEO (Central), IHH Healthcare Malaysia.
The dialogue shed light on IHH’s holistic approach to sustainability, with our leaders discussing sustainability strategies that are transforming healthcare at IHH which includes reducing carbon emissions, waste management and providing value-based outcomes for patients.
“There’s a huge social aspect to sustainability and at IHH, we focus on what matters most – caring for the environment with our patients, people and the public in mind, to deliver the best healthcare possible,” emphasised Yasemin.
Keith, Yih Ming, and Erica added valuable insights on tackling antimicrobial resistance, effective waste management, and supporting our staff through development and well-being initiatives. This conversation reinforced our dedication to embedding sustainability into every facet of our operations.
Viewer questions brought fresh perspective, highlighting the importance of our ongoing commitment to creating sustainable healthcare.
