Throughout Ramadan, many of our hospitals in Malaysia reached out to underserved communities with meaningful acts of compassion—reflecting IHH Malaysia’s commitment to giving back and fostering stronger social bonds.
Pantai Hospital Sungai Petani and Pantai Hospital Laguna Merbok jointly organised a heartfelt Majlis Iftar with Masjid Andalusia Bandar Laguna Merbok, bringing joy to 52 underprivileged students and their families from PPKI SK Taman Ria, Sungai Petani. The students captivated attendees with their performances, guided by dedicated teachers, while generous contributions from hospital consultants added to the evening’s warmth and purpose.
Meanwhile, Pantai Hospital Ipoh partnered with Tenaga Nasional Berhad Perak to run a Bubur Lambuk Distribution Programme at the Sultan Idris II Mosque (State Mosque), sharing traditional Ramadan delicacies with the local community and reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to fostering strong communal ties.
At Gleneagles Hospital Medini, the team brought festive cheer to Pusat Jagaan Kasih Setanggi, a shelter for orphans and underprivileged children. Alongside hosting a Majlis Iftar, volunteers engaged residents with activities, made personal visits to bedridden individuals, and presented RM2,000 in donations, along with goodie bags, warm meals, and duit raya.
In East Malaysia, Gleneagles Hospital Kota Kinabalu collaborated with Sabah Social Entrepreneurs & Eco Development to distribute 650 bowls of bubur lambuk to patients, visitors, and the local community. The event brought people together in the spirit of kindness, reflecting the values of empathy and unity that Ramadan represents.
Together, these initiatives exemplify our commitment to community care, reflecting the values of kindness, generosity, and solidarity, especially meaningful during Ramadan.
