Driven by his trust and confidence in the cardiology team of Global Hospitals, Parel, 76-year-old Khalwan travelled from Oman to Mumbai to seek treatment when he was diagnosed with near heart failure. The care team led by Dr Chandrashekhar Kulkarni took up the challenge to perform the complex surgery and did not disappoint.
Suffering from breathlessness and fatigue due to four blockages in his heart, Khalwan was only half-functioning when he arrived at Global Hospitals Parel.
Recounted Dr Kulkarni, “This was a very special operation for us because we had to use a minimally invasive cardiac surgery technique. Considering the patient is 76 years old and had multiple health issues including severe artery disease and spinal problems, the fact that he could walk out of the hospital, albeit slowly, within five days, I think we had a very good outcome here.”
With his father showing very positive signs of recovery, Khalwan’s son is extremely grateful to the hospital’s medical team. “My father can now walk and manage small activities. On behalf of my father, I extend my heartfelt thanks to the team at Global Hospitals, Parel.”
