Our Life Renewed programme, launched in 2012, has been providing free treatment to underprivileged patients across the country.
This corporate giving initiative sponsors medical treatment for those in need, offering access to IHH Healthcare Malaysia's network of professionals and facilities. Since its inception, Life Renewed has enabled over 2,000 patients to receive care for conditions such as congenital heart defects, total knee replacement and cataract surgery, which might otherwise have been beyond their financial reach.
Available at all IHH Healthcare Malaysia hospitals, including Gleneagles, Pantai, Prince Court Medical Centre and Timberland Medical Centre, the programme follows a stringent screening process to ensure only those who meet the eligibility criteria benefit from the initiative.
By doing so, Life Renewed ensures that the funds are directed to those most in need, aligning with IHH’s commitment to sustainable healthcare and community support.
IHH Healthcare Malaysia’s dedication to community health is manifested through meaningful collaborations such as our partnership with the Ministry of Health Malaysia for cancer patient support.
The growing burden of cancer in Malaysia is not just a statistic but a pressing challenge that demands collective action. As cancer rates continue to rise, it presents a multifaceted, challenging, and costly predicament for the Malaysian healthcare system. To ease the cancer burden for the community, we partnered with the Ministry of Health Malaysia on 14 September 2022 to fully sponsor radiotherapy and radiosurgery for 500 cancer patients undergoing treatment at government hospitals.
Identified and referred by the Ministry of Health Malaysia and their designated specialists, these patients will receive treatment at seven of IHH Healthcare Malaysia’s hospitals equipped with Gamma Knife and Linear Accelerator (“LINAC”). We completed the programme early this year and recently renewed our partnership to fully sponsor another 500 cancer patients, starting 1 March 2024.
Reducing the burden of cancer is one of the priorities we have set for ourselves, as part of IHH’s global sustainability goals to touch five million lives for healthier communities by next year.
